چکیده
T he Bulletin was in the minds of members of The Arab Group for Study of Diabetes for years, but its conception took place at the Alexandria Diabetic Days meeting held in Egypt in November 1991, and the first issue appeared in July 1992. The Bulletin is a scientific, medical journal concerned with various aspects of diabetes mellitus and its complications. Intended to contribute toward the enrichment of knowledge and improvement of education and health care for diabetic patients, the Bulletin has a specific and specialized message to fulfill within this framework. As a scientific journal, it is not limited in its contents nor in its distribution to the Arab world. As a specialized journal, it has a regional as well as a worldwide expanse, aimed at inducing various inter-and intrapro-fessional reactions and interactions beneficial to diabetic patients in the Arab countries as well as in the rest of the world. The knowledge is free for all, and the disease we are concerned with is frequent , widely distributed, and exhibits similar manifestations and complications in different populations. The Bulletin, therefore, welcomes all contributions suitable for publication. The Bulletin invites all those involved in diabetes research or care to contribute to its message and enable it to achieve its objectives. Although the Bulletin is primarily concerned with diabetes mellitus in the Arab countries, it is also a source for publicizing internationally the scientific and medical achievements taking place within the Arab world. We hope that original articles and informative and educational materials will be received from the Arab countries and other parts of the world, alike. We also sincerely hope that the Bulletin will fulfill the important objective of providing a forum for scientific informative research and education. The Bulletin invites all to make it a success!
